Age: the population is divided into 3 main age groups
First is from 0-14 years. This group comprises children.
The next is from 15-64 years. This group comprises the working population, who contributes to the economy of the country.
Last one comprises the old people who are 64 and above.
Sex ratio: it is the ratio of number of females per 1000 males.
In developed countries the sex ratio is in favour of females, while in the developing countries like India and Bangladesh males out number females.
This is due to education the women receive, toxic social norms and cultural practices.
Literacy level: It is the ability to read and write with some understanding.
The economy and social development of a country depends on the literacy level of its population. Higher literacy rate is associated with higher social and economic development.
Urban and rural areas :
Based on the density of population, amenities and development, human settlement is divided into urban and rural areas.
