Following are the limitations of Newland’s law of octaves:
It is applicable only up to calcium.
Newly discovered elements could not fit into the octave structure.
The feature of the resemblance of the 8th element when arranged in increasing order of their atomic mass was not successful with heavier elements.
In order to fit these elements in his table, Newland adjusted two elements of different properties in the same position. For example, cobalt and nickel were placed in the same slot.
