  1. The nucleus has a double-layered covering called a nuclear membrane.

Functions :

  1. It separates the nucleus from the cytoplasm.
  2. The nuclear membrane has pores that allow the transfer of material from inside the nucleus to the cytoplasm. i.e from the nucleoplasm to the cytoplasm.
