The organic compounds formed majorly by Carbon and Hydrogen are called Hydrocarbons. For example - Methane, Butane, Hexane, Ethane, etc.
The main sources of Hydrocarbons are given below.
Natural sources - Hydrocarbons are extracted from Fossil fuels like natural gas, petroleum, and coal. Examples of hydrocarbons are Ethene, Isoprene, Methane, etc.
Industrial sources - Hydrocarbons are obtained industrially as a byproduct of fractionation of crude oil and coal gas to form petrochemicals and solvents. For example - Benzene, Toluene, etc.
