Conditions required to carryout autotrophic mode of nutrition are:
1) Presence of chlorophyll: Chlorophyll is necessary to absorb sunlight and convert it to energy containing chemical molecules.
2) Sunlight: sunlight provides the source of energy for photosynthesis.
3) Carbon dioxide: It provides carbon for the synthesis of sugars.
4) Water: It acts as the source of electrons and oxygen during the process of photosynthesis.
Carbohydrates (food) and O2 are the by-products of photosynthesis.
