What are the parts of human and brain and what are their functions?

3 parts of brain are:

1) Forebrain 2) Midbrain 3) Hindbrain

The functions are as follows :

1) Forebrain consists of cerebrum which coordinates all voluntary actions such as thoughts, sensations, learning, sight , smell etc.

2) Midbrain controls of reflex movements of the head, neck and eye which inculdes change in pupil size.

3) Hindbrain consists of- Pons, Cerebellum and Medulla.

  • Pons take part in respiration.
  • Cerebellum helps in maintaining postures and balance of the body.
  • Medulla controls all involuntary actions such as heartbeat, blood pressure etc. It also controls swallowing, sneezing, vomiting, coughing etc.
