Solution:
Despite making profits from farming, the big farmers also face problems. The big farmers often use more than one borewell to irrigate their crops during dry seasons and drought years. Though large farmers have the means to overcome the shortcomings, they don't have the solutions for sustaining problems. If these borewells go dry after years of overexploitation, these farmers will have to spend more on deeper borewells or suffer crop failure.
Large farmers generally avail loans from banks under various government schemes to buy machinery.
Big farmers often use excessive chemical fertilisers and pesticides to get higher yields. This is either driven by a lack of knowledge about the correct use of these inputs or misinformation about the required quantity of farm inputs. Though it seems convenient for the farmers to keep the pests away, it also has an adverse effect on the soil and groundwater quality.
It also affects people’s health by consuming food grown this way.
