The two parents involved in the reproduction produce certain specialised cells in their body. These are the reproductive cells, also known as the gametes.
The male produces the male gametes called sperms whereas the female produces the female gametes called eggs.
The sperm and the egg come together and fuse to form a single celled zygote and this process of fusion is known as fertilisation.
This zygote grows and develops and becomes a young baby and this young baby grows into an adult and the whole process continues.
