What are the symptoms for typhoid and goitre

Typhoid is a bacterial infection that can lead to a high fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. It can be fatal. It is caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi.

Symptoms of Typhoid :
1) Symptoms normally begin between 6 and 30 days after exposure to the bacteria.

2) The two major symptoms of typhoid are fever and rash. Typhoid fever is particularly high, gradually increasing over several days up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

3) The rash, which does not affect every patient, consists of rose-colored spots, particularly on the neck and abdomen.

4) Other symptoms can include: weakness, abdominal pain, constipation, headaches

5) It may lead to diarrhea, and vomiting, but this is not normally severe.

6) In serious cases, the bowel can become perforated. This can lead to an infection of the tissue that lines the inside of the abdomen, which can be fatal in most cases.


A goiter is an enlarged thyroid gland.
Symptoms of of goitre include :

1) Enlargement of the thyroid gland in the throat. It may appear as a smooth diffuse swelling or with an irregular surface due to the presence of nodules. It moves vertically during swallowing

2) Difficulty in swallowing due to a large goitre that presses the esophagus or food pipe

3) Difficulty in breathing due to a large goitre that presses the windpipe (trachea)

4) Hoarseness of voice
