1. It is used as an anesthetic in the form of nitrous oxide.
2. It is used as an inert replacement of air where oxidation is not required.
3. It is used to keep the packaged food fresh i.e. used to prevent rancidity.
4. It is used as to fill aircraft as well as vehicle tyres.
