Methods of sugar cultivation followed in India are:
Transplanting techniques: Seedlings are primarily raised in nursery from single bud set.
Ring pit method: In the pit method, the crops are raised in pits at the spacing of 180 cm between rows and 150 cm between individual pits in a row. The pits are dug using specially designed tractor drawn power tillers.
FIRB stands for Furrow Irrigated Raised Bed. Crops like wheat and mustard are grown along with sugarcane in between them so as to manage water.
