What are the two main properties of sound?
The two main properties of sound are:
1.1 The number of rarefactions and compressions that occur per unit time is known as the frequency of a sound wave.
1.2 Frequency is related to pitch of the sound, more frequency means higher pitch and vice versa.
1.3 Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz).
2. Amplitude
2.1 The amplitude of the sound is the magnitude of the maximum disturbance in a sound wave.
2.2 The amplitude of sound wave tells us about the amount of energy it have.
2.3 Amplitude also tells us about loudness, the louder the sound, the more energy it has.
2.4 Amplitude is measured in meters.
