Coronary Artery:

  1. Like all other organs, the Heart requires Oxygenated blood.
  2. It is supplied to the heart by the Coronary artery.
  3. A pair of coronary arteries supply the cardiac muscles with oxygenated blood from the lungs.

Coronary Artery disease:

  1. It is a heart condition where the blood vessel is blocked or narrowed.
  2. This is usually caused by the deposition of lipid along the periphery of arterial walls or other reasons that narrow the lumen of the arteries.
  3. This results in less blood supply to the heart.
  4. It is also called Ischemic Heart Disease.

Causes of Coronary Artery Disease:

  1. Atherosclerosis
  2. Obesity
  3. Diabetes
  4. Hypertension
  5. Smoking
