Solution
We see objects when the reflected light from an object reaches our eyes. White light is composed of varying wavelengths of light. Different wavelengths appear different colours to our eyes. When we see a green paper the light reflected is green. When that light reaches our eyes we are able to see the green paper. We can see only the colours that get reflected from the object. That is the answer to both of your questions. When light falls on the green paper the wavelength of green colour get reflected from that object. Whenit falls on our eyes then we see the object and when the light get reflected to wall there appears a green colour.
