Solution

Endomembrane system: It is formed by the endoplasmic reticulum, golgi complex, lysosomes, vacuoles, and all these cell organelles' functions are coordinated with one another.

  1. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a membrane-bound network that connects the nuclear and plasma membranes.
  2. It is responsible for the synthesis of proteins and lipids.
  3. The luminal space (inside the ER) and the extra-luminal space are separated by the endoplasmic reticulum (outside the ER).
