What do we mean when we say that the fuse wire must have high resistance when compared to the wire of same lenght?

Open in App
Solution

fuse wire should have more resistance and a low melting point.
It is due to the following reasons;
  1. It should melt easily if a high current passes.
  2. It should get more heat which can be possible if high resistance is there.
