Drawing the diagram of the situation:

  1. A group of rays of light is called a beam.
  2. Because light travels in a straight line and it is better to represent it with the help of a ray.
  3. If a beam of light focuses at one point we call it a convergent beam of light.
  4. The rays are concentrated at a single point.

Hence, when a large number of rays i.e beam focuses at one point it is called a convergent beam of light.
