Solution

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE:-

  1. Earth is surrounded by a thick cover of air, called the atmosphere.
  2. We all live under this sea of air. Air exerts a force on the earth due to its weight.
  3. As a result, every object on the earth is pressed by a pressure equal to the weight of the air acting on a unit area.
  4. The pressure exerted (thrust exerted on one unit area) by the air at any point on the earth is called atmospheric pressure at that point.
