What do you think would happen if the thyroid gland of a tadpole is removed?

  • In a frog thyroxine, the hormone is produced by thyroid gland.
  • Thyroxine production requires the presence of iodine in water. If the water in which the tadpoles are growing does not contain sufficient iodine, the tadpoles cannot become adults.
  • So, if the thyroid gland is removed tadpole cannot become adult.
