Forest reserve is a land area which is demarcated into diffeent zones with specified activites in each zone. The purpose being protection of both forests and wildlife.

1. Protected zone - Where human activity is totally prohibited. No felling and collection of firewood is allowed.

2. Buffer Zone - This zone is on the way to develop into a dense forest. It ensures recovery of lost forest cover by planting fresh new saplings of trees.

3. Nursery Zone - Where nursery for forest trees is maintained. Here protection of shelter and managing food for wildlife is done.
