Solution:

  • Solute + Solvent = Solution
  • A solute dissolves in a solvent to form a solution.
  • A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more components in which the particle size is less than 1nm.
  • In a homogeneous solution, all the components appear as a single phase.
  • A solution may exist in any phase, the solution consists of a solute and solvent.
  • The amount of solute that can be dissolved in a solvent is called its solubility.
  • Common examples are the solution of salt in water, the solution of sugar in water, etc.
