What do you understand by thermal equilibrium?

1. When an object or a body is brought in contact with another body at different temperatures, then the heat gets transferred from high temperature to low temperature, till both the bodies attain same temperature. This state is known as thermal equilibrium.
2. Example:-when a hot cup of tea is kept under room temperature, then the heat gets transferred to the atmosphere over time, till the temperature of tea and atmosphere is equal.
