Solution
Codon:
A sequence of three consecutive nucleotides in a DNA or RNA molecule that codes for a specific amino acid are known as a codon.
Ribosomes start to read codons that are present on mRNA, starting with AUG codon, that code for amino acid methionine
.
Start codon will make a reading frame by adding
corresponding amino acids in a polypeptide chain.
The start codon always codes for methionine in eukaryotes and an
N-formylmethionine (fMet)
in bacteria.
