Open in App
Solution

The type of motion of an object depends upon the direction of the motion:

  1. If it is along a straight line it is said to have translatory motion.
  2. If it is along a circular path it is said to have a circular motion.
  3. When the motion of an object is from side to side or to and fro, it is called an oscillatory motion.
  4. When the motion of an object repeats itself again and again, it is called a repetitive motion.
  5. If the motion of an object repeats itself after regular intervals of time it is periodic else it is said to be a non-periodic motion.
  6. When the motion of an object does not have a fixed path or direction, it is called a random motion.
