  1. Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA is one of the nucleic acids that carry genetic information. DNA contains our unique genetic code.
  2. DNA molecule is made up of nucleotides.
  3. A nucleotide consists of a pentose sugar i.e. deoxyribose sugar, a phosphate group and a nitrogenous base - adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T)
  4. Nucleotides store and transfer genetic information.
  5. Thus, DNA is said to transmit genetic information.

DNA Code:

  1. DNA code contains information required to make proteins and molecules required for growth, development and health.
  2. DNA codes provide information for the synthesis of proteins.
