Solution

New species

  1. The rise of new species is known as speciation.
  2. When a group of individuals separate from their species for a long span of time and later evolve as a different trait they are referred to as new species.
  3. Due to these changes, the organism is subjected to continuous evolution and this eventually gives rise to a new population.

The main factor that could lead to the rise of new species are-

Genetic drift

  1. It is caused due to large changes in the frequency of a particular gene by chance alone.
  2. This results in a genetic change due to random events.

Natural selection

  1. It is a phenomenon of nature's adaptation and survival of those organisms which are suited for nature.
  2. They adapt themselves according to the environment.

Geographical distribution

  1. Few organisms get separated on the basis of their regions.
  2. This stops the breeding process between the species

Reproductive isolation

  1. There are specific reproductive structures present in organisms.
  2. They prevent the breeding of different species.

Genetic mutation

Various type of mutation that occurs in an organism changes its genetic composition
