Factors affecting the rate of cell division:

  1. Stress: If the cells are damaged and still undergo cell division, the new cells formed will also be damaged.
  2. Genetics: It regulates cell division.
  3. Nutrients: Several nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are capable to neutralize some chemicals in the body causing the cells to mutate and divide.
  4. Chemicals: Exposure to toxic chemicals like pesticides can lead to cell mutation.
  5. When the cells are mutated, they produce mutated and damaged cells.
