The process by which cells undergo division to give rise to new cells is called cell division.
It is of two types: mitosis and meiosis.
Factors affecting the rate of cell division:
Stress: If the cells are damaged and still undergo cell division, the new cells formed will also be damaged.
Genetics: It regulates cell division.
Nutrients: Several nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are capable to neutralize some chemicals in the body causing the cells to mutate and divide.
Chemicals: Exposure to toxic chemicals like pesticides can lead to cell mutation.
When the cells are mutated, they produce mutated and damaged cells.
