Solution

First-aid:

  1. First-aid is the immediate, temporary relief or care given to a wounded, injured or a sick person before the person is taken to a doctor or hospital.
  2. First-aid prevents the condition from worsening and can be life-saving in some cases.

First aid for burns:

  1. In case of burns, the area feels very hot and turns red.
  2. Hold the affected area under cool running water for a minimum 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Gently remove rings from the affected area before the area swells.

First-aid for cuts:

  1. In case of a minor cut, first wash the area with water and then clean it with cotton dipped in dilute antiseptic liquid like Dettol or savlon.
  2. Apply an antiseptic cream and tie a clean bandage to protect it from infection.
