After the indigo production collapsed in Bengal, planters shifted to Bihar. In Bihar also they organised a similar revolt known as Champaran revolt in the year 1917 which was supported by Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji was moved by the plight of the indigo workers and initiated this movement.
