What happens if the field is not ploughed before sowing seeds?

Open in App
Solution

Ploughed:

  1. Ploughing is the process of manually loosening the soil before seeding.
  2. Loosening the soil helps the crops get enough nutrients for its growth and also get enough moisture to seep inside the soil.

If land is seeded without ploughing:

  1. There will be soil crumbs left which will not allow proper growth of plants.
  2. There will be no proper nutrients in the soil for the plants to utilize.
  3. Seeds cannot be sown at proper depth.
  4. Water and air holding capacity of soil will be poor.
