Question

What happens to a saturated sugar solution when the temperature is increased?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Saturated solution: A solution in which no more solute can be dissolved in a definite amount of solvent at a given temperature is called a saturated solution.
  2. Example: 36g of Sodium chloride (NaCl) dissolved in 100g water at room temperature forms a saturated solution
  3. When the temperature increases for a saturated sugar solution, it becomes unsaturated, which means more solute can now be dissolved in the given solution, because the solubility of the solution increases with the rising temperature.
