  1. When the heat supplied to a substance doesn't causes the temperature of the substance ,this means the heat energy being supplied is used to break the internal bonds between the atom it is called Latent heat .
  2. Latent heat is the heat which helps the internal bonds of the substance to break so that the phase change occur .
  3. This happens as heat energy is utilised in changing the phase of a substance .
