Question

What happens to molar conductivity when one mole of KCl dissolved in one litre is diluted to five liters?

Open in App
Solution

Molar conductivity increases with dilution. Molar conductivity is the conduction of all the ions produced from 1 mole of KCl. When one mole of KCl dissolved in one litre is diluted to five litres, total number of ions increases due to increase in the degree of dissociation. Hence, molar conductivity increases.
