What happens to the heat energy supplied to the solid once it starts melting?

1. When temperature reaches the melting point the solid, absorb an energy called the latent heat of fusion to change its state to liquid.

2.‘The temperature at which a solid substance melts and changes into a liquid at atmospheric pressure is known as melting point of the solid.

3.There is no change in the temperature till the entire solid has melted.

4. After the solid melts, it's temperature increase further if more heat is supplied.

5. Heat energy supplies to a solid increase if the current temperature is less than its melting point.
