Question

what happens to the momentum when two objects coming from different directions with different velocites collide and go in different directions.

Open in App
Solution

there occurs conservation of momentum
ie momentum before collition is equal to momentum after collition
if the masses are same and collition is elastic then they interchange their velocity
In general, maximum loss of kinetic energy occurs when two colliding objectsstick together during and after the collision. If the momenta are equal but the masses are unequal, then a collision is possible because the two are moving atdifferent velocities.
