Solution

Step 1: Introduction

In an organic reaction, a reagent reacts with a reactant molecule to produce an intermediate which is converted into final products.

The reaction of Ethanol (C2H5OH) in the presence of concentrated Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) shows an oxidation reaction to produce Ethanal (CH3CHO) and then Ethanoic acid (CH3COOH)

Step 2: Reaction

The chemical equation of Ethanol with concentrated Sulphuric acid and Potassium dichromate is written as:

C2H5OH+K2Cr2O7concH2SO4CH3CHO+K2Cr2O7concH2SO4CH3COOHEthanolEthanalEthanoicacid
