Solution

(i) Formaldehyde is heated with NH3 to obtain urotropine (hexamethylene tetramine).
6HCHO+4NH3(CH2)6N4+6H2O
(ii) Acetone react with Bleaching Powder (CaOCl2) to form trichloroacetone. Hydrolysis of trichloroacetone gives chloroform.
CaOCl2+H2OCa(OH)2+Cl2
CH3COCH3+3Cl2CCl3COCH3+3HCl
2CCl3COCH3+Ca(OH)22CHCl3+(CH3COO)2Ca
(iii) Formaldehyde reacts with Fehling Solution to form anion of formic acid.
HCHO+2Cu2++5OHΔHCOO++Cu2O+3H2O
