What happens when we add more solvent into a saturated solution?

Open in App
Solution

Answer:

Saturated Solution:

  • A solution in which no more solute can be dissolved at a given temperature is called a saturated solution.
  • Those solutions in which the amount of dissolved solute is equal to the saturation point of the solvent is known as a saturated solution.
  • For example, Sugar solution.

Saturated solution after adding more solvent:

  • On adding more solvent to a saturated solution it becomes unsaturated.
  • Because this allows more solutes to dissolve in the solution and makes the solution unsaturated.

Conclusion:

Therefore, if we add more solvent to the saturated solution it will become unsaturated.
