Open in App
Solution

Sodium and water balance:

  1. Aldosterone is the hormone that regulates the water balance and sodium in human body.
  2. Aldosterone is secreted by the cortex region of adrenal gland.
  3. Aldosterone stimulates the reabsorption of water and sodium ions from the renal tubules.
  4. Atrial natriuretic factor increases excretion of water and sodium ions and therefore has opposite effects to that of aldosterone.
