Solution

Transcription:

  1. The process by which information from DNA is converted to RNA i.e mRNA.
  2. In this process, only one strand of DNA is copied into RNA.
  3. A transcription unit is comprised of three regions namely a Promoter, a structural gene, and a terminator.
  4. A promoter is a region where RNA polymerase bind to initiate transcription, a structural gene contains the coding information of DNA and a terminator is defined as the codon where transcription stops.

Response elements:

  1. The short sequences of DNA present in the promoter region of the gene.
  2. Promotor is a region of DNA located upstream of a gene where RNA polymerase and (TF) transcription factors bind to start transcription.
  3. Response elements bind to the specific transcription factors to initiate transcription.
