What is a well and how does it differ from a tube-well?

  • Well is an excavation or a structure created in ground by digging or drilling to pull underground water. Water is drawn by using a motor pump or by a bucket and rope.
  • Tube well is another source of drawing underground water by boring the land using a steel tube until the water bearing stratum is reached. It is with openings on either side.
