Open in App
Solution

The extinction of dinosaurs occurred some 65 million years ago during the Cretaceous-Tertiary Extinction event. It was believed till 1980s that the change in environment and food shortage resulted in the extinction of dinosaurs. Later on, Luis and Walter discovered iridium from the places where fossils of dinosaurs were discovered. This element is present in outer bodes and it was suggested that fall of comets resulted in the extinction of dinosaurs.
