Centripetal force is defined as the force acting on the body moving in a circular path and is directed towards the centre around which the body is moving. Mathematically, centripetal force is given by. F = mv^2/r where r is the radius of circular path in which the body is moving and m and v are the mass and velocity of that body, respectively. SI unit is of force.
