Tropism:

  1. The growth or response of a part of the plant or lower animals towards or away from a stimulus is known as tropism.
  2. There are six types of tropism gravitropism, chemotropism, phototropism, thigmotropism, hydrotropism and thermotropism.

Chemotropism:

  1. In response to a chemical stimulus, the part of plant growth or movement is called chemotropism.
  2. In response to a chemical (calcium boron inositol sugar complex), the pollen tube grows this is an example of positive chemotropism.
