Solution

Golgi apparatus:

  1. The Golgi apparatus is a membrane-bound organelle found in most cells.
  2. It is responsible for packaging proteins into vesicles prior to secretion and therefore plays a key role in the secretory pathway.
  3. The Golgi is made of 5-8 folds called cisternae.
  4. It is responsible for sorting and packaging of substances.
  5. It has two faces, one receiving face, in which the vesicles empty their content. This is called cis-face.
  6. The other face is, through which the vesicles leave the Golgi apparatus, called trans-face.
