What is common among the following organisms?
Hermaphroditism
Hermaphrodites are organisms with reproductive organs that produce both sperm and eggs. When hermaphrodites, like earthworms, do mate, they can assume either the male or female role. Certain marine flatworms, even fight to assume roles and attempt to pierce each other with their penises. Ultimately one of the mating pair achieves insemination, and the other carries the young.
