Insectivorous plants:

The plants which feed on insects for fulfilment of their nutritional requirements are referred to as insectivorous plants. Examples include Nepenthes, Utricularia, Drosera.

Although they are autotrophic, they still have plant modifications to trap insects. These plants are usually found growing in soil deficient in nitrogen where they replenish their nitrogen requirements by trapping insects.

Mode of nutrition:

The mode of nutrition of insectivorous plants is both autotrophic and heterotrophic.
