What is convection?

Open in App
Solution

Convection:

  1. Convection is a method of heat transfer in which medium particles actually move to the heat source, receive heat, and move away from it.
  2. Convection is not possible in solids because in solids molecules are closely packed and cannot move to the source of heat.
  3. In coastal areas, the temperature remains moderate due to convection currents, called sea breeze and land breeze.
