Nitrification:

  1. It is an aerobic oxidation process in which ammonia is converted to nitrate and nitrite.
  2. Chemoautotrophic organisms are responsible for Nitrification like Nitrobacter and Nitrosomonas.
  3. It is important in agriculture.
