What is the difference between DNA and chromosome?
The difference between DNA and chromosomes is as follows:
|DNA is the chemical form which stores genetic information.||The chromosome is the highest organized structure containing condensed DNA double helix along with histone proteins.|
|Made up of nucleotide monomers of four nitrogenous bases i.e. Guanine, Adenine, Cytosine, Thymine.||Made up of DNA and histone proteins in eukaryotes and DNA plus non-histone proteins in prokaryotes.|
|Identification is done via gel electrophoresis.||Identification is done via karyotyping or microscopy.|
